 Welcome, students! Registration is now open for our diploma and ESL program (English as a Second Language) for the 2023/2024 school year and our newly added CTE Courses!

Our diploma classes are in person and take place on our Victor Valley Adult School Campus and will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays (more info below under the desired program). Class times are from 4:00-7:00 p.m. *Students are required to physically check in with the teacher at least once a week. Students are also able to work at their own pace at home or wherever they have an internet connection.

Our ESL classes are in person and take place on our Victor Valley Adult School Campus and will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays (more info below under the desired program). Time will be dependent on class assignment which will be either 4:00-5:15 p.m. or 5:30-6:45 p.m.

Our Emergency Medical Responder (Spring Semester) class will be held at Silverado High School on Tuesdays from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Room 8101 with Teacher Mr. Wick. *Classes are in person. *Seat time is required.

Our Medical Terminology (Fall Semester) class will be held at Silverado High School on Tuesdays from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Room 8101 with Teacher Mr. Wick. *Classes are in person. *Seat time is required.

Our Medical Records and Insurance Billing Technician (Fall Semester) class will be held at Victor Valley High School on Mondays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 71 with Teacher Mrs. Shaw. *Classes are in person. *Seat time is required.


Please note: We do not offer the GED program at this time. Please contact Hesperia Adult School, Apple Valley Adult School, or GED.com.


After you have submitted your registration, you will receive an email with further instructions. This email should arrive within one week of your submission. Registration may take up to two weeks to process once we have all the items we need. All registration forms submitted in June and July will be followed up on at the beginning of August in the order received. Please check your email frequently, as this is the method we use for most of our communication.

To enroll in the diploma program, we will need a government-issued ID and your official transcripts from the last school you attended, in addition to your completed registration form (we will not need your transcripts if your last high school was within our district, VVUHSD). Please note your last school attended correctly on your registration form. Official transcripts must be unopened and brought to us in a sealed envelope. If transcripts are emailed, they must come directly from the school's or registrar's email address with a valid signature, and be sent directly to our email address at adulted@vvuhsd.org. We cannot accept emailed transcripts from students. Victor Valley Adult School offers a reduced credit requirement of 150 credits. Classes are in person and students are required to attend classes and stay for as long as they can. Students must physically check in with their teacher at least once a week. Students are also able to work at home in the Acellus program at their own pace. Please feel free to call us or come by if you have any questions.

This test is mandatory and we cannot assign you to a class until this test has been taken. We will reevaluate our seat availability in mid-January to see if we have any seats available. Right now all registrations are being put on a wait list and will be offered to students on a first come first serve basis in the order they were received. Please note that registering does not guarantee you a seat in the class at this time, it just puts you on a waitlist. Emergency Medical Responder

(Spring Semester 2024)

In this course, students will learn the anatomy and physiology of the human body, the EMR principles of emergency care, and on-scene safety and precautions. The student will gain practical experience in assessing patients, protocols, and procedures for transporting patients and dealing with medical or behavioral emergencies. Students will gain knowledge of childbirth and how to deal with pediatric emergencies. Areas of study include an introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMRs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, and special considerations for working in the prehospital setting.

Medical Terminology

(Fall Semester 2023)

The study of medical terminology introduces students to the language of medicine. Students will gain an understanding of basic elements, rules of building and analyzing medical words, and medical terms associated with the body as a whole. Utilizing a systems approach, the student will define, interpret, and pronounce medical terms relating to structure and function, pathology, diagnosis, clinical procedures, oncology, and pharmacology. In addition to medical terms, common abbreviations applicable to each system will be interpreted.

*NEW! Medical Records and Insurance Billing Technician

(Fall Semester 2023)

This course is designed to prepare students to enter employment in a medical insurance or other medical-clerical position or continue their training in the medical field. This course provides a firm foundation in the procedures of medical records, the HIPAA privacy act, medical billing and coding procedures. Students receive instruction in medical office insurance billing procedures, including financial records, computerized medical records and billing, CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding, collection procedures, identifying and billing various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, Medicare, MediCal, Private Indemnity, Workers' Compensation), referral process and proper office protocol. Students will also receive instruction in all aspects of maintaining medical records and filing systems, and electronic medical records procedures, including how to transfer, release, purge, store, retrieve, and destroy records and files. The importance of confidentiality and ethical conduct is stressed.
